I had a concert in Cape Cod, in Massachusetts, where I played at the Marine Biological Laboratory with members of the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players. We played in the Meigs Room in the Swope Center at the MBL where they had a beautifully renovated Steinway piano. We all stayed at my Grandpa’s house which is by the water, so of course we very quickly jumped into the water and had a great time.
Now you are probably wondering how we got to Cape Cod right? Well it was the last day of 4th grade in school for me and I had one of the nicest teachers you could ever imagine. Anyway we were supposed to leave early that morning, but I love school so much that I begged to reschedule the trip for later even though the last day of school was actually only one and a half hours long. This made everything very rushed! The grownups were a little annoyed that we had to leave later, but finally we drove in a van with all ten musicians from New York City to Cape Cod. It was a VERY long drive because of HUGE traffic, but we finally arrived! The concert was a lot of fun (I played the Rontgen Trio again and a solo piece) and then we had to rush back to New York for the Oyster Bay Music Festival.
P.S. I also played ping pong at our friend's house! I'm getting better, but my grandpa says I have to admit in my blog that he won.
