This is one of my favorite pieces! I was so happy when I finally got the chance to learn it.
Fun Facts for Chopin’s Fantasie-Impromptu No. 4 in C-sharp minor, Op. posth. 66
- Did you know that the melody in the middle section of the Fantasie-Impromptu was used in the popular song “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows”? The music is credited to Harry Carroll, but it is actually Chopin’s melody! Here, listen to beautiful recording of Judy Garland singing the song and compare for yourself.
- Chopin wrote this Impromptu No. 4 in 1835 before he wrote his other three Impromptus. It should be number one!
- The Fantasy-Impromptu is one of Chopin’s most popular works, but did you know that it wasn’t published until after he died?
- Chopin never even wanted the piece published but here it is – one of our favorites!
