I just won second place in the 25th Young Artist Competition of the Long Island Philharmonic (held every three years for piano). It happened on April 2nd 2012 and it was very exciting! I played on a beautiful Steinway “D” piano, and I was handed a big check (my favorite part was the really big oversize check I get to hang in my room).

There were four finalists and we played in a pubic concert at the Steinway Gallery in Melville, Long Island. I was the youngest. The other finalists were in 10th, 11th and 12th grade (I even knew some of them from All State). If you look closely at the picture, I had to stand on the stage so I wouldn’t be so short next to the other guys. The competition was open to all pianists age 18 and under in Long Island and Queens!
