MaximI had probably up to date the most incredible experience a few weeks ago! I was invited to perform on NPR’s From The Top, the most amazing classical music show on radio!

The live show was taped in front of a packed house in Boston’s Jordan Hall, and the show will air nationally on NPR starting the week of March 10th (check your classical music station for day and time).

Everything about this experience was amazing. The producers of the show and the host, pianist Christopher O’Riley, made everything so fun. They made jokes and helped us feel so comfortable right away. We hardly had any time to feel nervous! I also made great friends with the other performers on the show and I hope that we will see each other again soon!

A great part of the From The Top experience is that after the live performance we also had a chance to do several outreach programs. We talked about how to bring classical music beyond the concert hall and ways to share the music we love to new audiences. We visited a Boston elementary school that has just started a program to introduce students to music. It was fun to perform for the students and hear their responses to the music. It really made me start thinking about why I get so excited about classical music and how I can pass it on to other kids.

Here is a link to my From The Top‘s performance. You can listen to it online if you miss the radio program!
