Early on in the pandemic, I performed over 35 virtual concerts. Highlights include my own livestream series to raise funds for civil rights organizations; and concert programs for presenters such as The Violin Channel, Gilmore Keyboard Festival, Manchester Music Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, YCA, Johns Hopkins University, Cosmos Club, Candlelight Concerts, LLIMF and others. Beethoven with Daniel Hope, Lynn Harrell and ZKO

This was an experience I will never forget – a three generation concert tour with Daniel Hope, Lynn Harrell, and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and Trios. A few months later the world lost Lynn Harrell, one of the most beloved cellists of his generation and a very special individual who I am so grateful to have met.

For the past seven years I have performed in countless events for the Lang Lang International Music Foundation – each one with its own special ambience, stunning location, celebrities, fantastic food, and of course music! This time the concert was at Steinway Hall, hosted by Alec Baldwin and written up in The Jewish Voice and Taki’s “Why 2019 has been a wonderful year” in The Spectator.

Concert with Danjulo Ishizaka in Munich

I was so happy to return to the wonderful chamber music series “Stars and Rising Stars” in Munich for the third season! The Süddeutschen Zeitung wrote we “were able to beat so many virtuoso, sentimental or brilliant sparks from pieces of Liszt, Rachmaninov or Arensky, that one feared that the bone-dry hall could catch fire.”

I had a blast performing a recital at the Shenzhen Symphony Hall in Shenzhen, China through the invitation of Lang Lang and the Lang Lang Shenzhen Futian International Piano Festival. What a beautiful concert hall, an exciting city, and also a great opportunity to visit nearby Hong Kong!

Project with Chick Corea

We discussed music, improvised together (my very first attempts – and it was truly a blast), filmed for a future new workshop video, and made my first recording of Tchaikovsky Seasons. Concerts with Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players

It is always an honor to play with great musicians, and that’s how I feel every time playing with Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players. It’s also an audience experience that is hard to describe – there is an intimacy and atmosphere that is very special at this series. This fall, I performed the epic and rarely performed Sibelius Piano Quintet; the very beautiful Arthur Foote and Jerome Moross Piano Quintets; and Paul Schoenfield’s fantastic high energy Klezmer Trio!

I was very excited to perform Grieg Piano Concerto with Maestro Daniel Meyer and the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra at the beautiful Palace Theater in Greensburg, PA! It was a special concert and evening celebrating the opening of Westmoreland Symphony’s Gala 50th Anniversary Season, and I felt honored to be a part of it.

It was quite an honor to perform for His Royal Highness, England’s Prince Edward, at a private event raising awareness for the The Duke of Edinburgh International Award. My first time performing for royalty! A few days later it was another honor to be introduced by Lang Lang and perform at a private concert at John Paulson’s spectacular residence in New York.

I had a wonderful opportunity to perform Liszt’s fascinating arrangement of Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra. The concert was with the New York Orchestra conducted by Michael Feldman, founder of Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and was an all Schubert program for the 5th Annual Animal Haven Benefit Concert.

Summer Concerts in Europe

Summer was wonderful with concerts in Europe, great meals, chamber music, and fantastic experiences with other musicians. Highlights included a performance of Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Cherubini Orchestra in Florence, Italy; and a solo concert at the Ancient Theater of Pythagorion in Samos, Greece.
