Making History in Vietnam
This was a historic tour at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi, celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and US and the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnam-US Friendship Association. Maxim performed Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue together with the Atlanta based Johns Creek Orchestra and guest conductor Austin Chanu. He also joined Vietnamese clarinetist Tran Khanh Quang and cellist Dr. Dinh Hoai Xuan as soloists with the Johns Creek Orchestra and a Vietnamese mouth harp ensemble, presenting “Huong ve Ha Noi” (Towards Hanoi), arranged by composer Luu Ha An to highlight the beauty of cultural exchange.
