What a thrill to continue my tour with Lang Lang! This time we visited China to perform together for the Beijing National Center for Performing Arts’ Gala 10th Anniversary Celebration concert. What an amazing experience to meet some of the highest officials of China! A few years ago I played a solo concert in this same arts center (the NCPA) which is nicknamed the “Egg” – it is a stunning venue from every detail on the outside through the vast inside (I always get lost inside), but this time I finally had the chance to play in the great Concert Hall. Lang Lang was a fantastic host and introduced me to new foods and Chinese culture. The hotel I stayed at was simply spectacular, and the people I met were incredibly friendly and passionate about music. It was an amazing experience!
