One of the highlights of May was traveling to Almaty, Kazakhstan to perform at the Forte Music Fest. Forte Music Fest is an international classical music festival consisting of three nights of fantastic concerts held in the big Zhambyl Hall of the Kazakh State Philharmonic. I performed on two of the three concerts, and was so excited to be invited as a Guest Artist wit such amazing musicians. 
I had such a wonderful time in Almaty! The people were so warm and generous, the food and hospitality were amazing (even though meat is a big part of the cooking, our hosts always had many wonderful vegetarian options for me), and the city is surrounded by the most spectacular mountains. On one of the days, I even had a chance to visit the mountains up close!
